MARINE ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGIST

REQUIREMENTS

• High School Diploma

• 2+ years experience in motor yacht mechanical, electrical, propulsion systems, engineering, construction, refit, repairs.

• Software required.: MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), MTU Blueline.

  
  

JOB DESCRIPTION.

• Apply theory & principles of marine engineering to design, build, operate, maintain, repair equipment/systems on luxury yachts to ensure seaworthiness & safety standards.

• Perform duties of engineering officer on board, ensure safe operation of mechanical, electrical, engine, hydraulic, propulsion systems.

• Study proposals, plans, specifications to review design & operation incl.: structural design, materials, size, weight, speed, propulsion, displacement, draft, electrical, mechanical, refrigeration, communications & related marine systems.

• Confer with engineering team, owner, manufacturer, crew to determine project details.

• Ensure work is performed correctly in conformity with standards of safety, efficiency, economy.

• Perform routine & emergency repairs/maintenance.

• Travel required. ~1 wk/qtr. to inspect vessels & to meet with customers (domestic/international) & to attend boat shows in E. Coast U.S
